A place of healing

Maggie’s Leeds is a cancer care center that provides free care to those struggling with cancer. It was envisioned by Heatherwick Studio as a healing environment, utilizing biophilia to do so. The building is timber and has extensive views to the gardens it is surrounded by. Additionally, there are many plants in every interior space, so nature is always near visitors. The building itself is biomorphic in nature, representing a treehouse or some sort of natural growth that shelters those inside. Additionally, there are walking paths through the surrounding gardens.
