green infrastructural futures
One Green Mile is a linear park built using the disused space beneath a highway overpass in Mumbai, India. The park is an effort to provide the surrounding neighborhood with public amenities and greenspace amidst the presence of a harmful and polluting infrastructure project. It is an example of an infrastructural space reimagined as human-centric urbanism. The park is part of the rejuvenation of an 1800m stretch of land into a series of outdoor rooms functioning as seating, play or fitness areas, gardens, performance spaces, and more. The project also contains water storage and water filtering facilities to water the plants in the park.
