JD Brown, Program Director of the Biophilic Cities Network, will present the concept and practice of biophilic cities. Biophilic cities strive to conserve nature, biodiversity, and ecosystems within city limits, to provide for the needs of local flora and fauna, to increase city dwellers' access to and contact with nature and wilderness. JD will present examples of best practices for urban wildlife protection and restoration, and discuss legal mechanisms that cities can use to protect urban nature and and promote equity in access to nature.
