AN OFFICE IN A GARDEN…
Second Home Office is a coworking complex in Los Angeles. The development turned 90,800 SF of hardscape parking lot space into 70,000 SF of landscaped spaces and glassy work pods. Instead of a garden next to a building, the architects Selgascano built a large village of buildings within a garden. The garden contains more than 10,000 plants and trees in addition to attracting a diverse wildlife population. These plants provide shade, reducing the site’s temperature and allowing for the small structures to swap artificial lighting for clear glass facades. This creates a peaceful work environment closely connected with nature.
